Value Management

Is Value Management a Flight of Philosophical Fancy or Just Everyday Business Management?

When we talk about value management, we have to distinguish human values from corporate values. Human values are individual ideas, opinions, attitudes and behavioural pat-terns that people in a group, organisation or company consider important, good and therefore worthwhile. They not only have a sustained impact on attitudes and value judgements, but also on people's behaviour.

In contrast, corporate values are intangible assets, meaning the non-concrete values of a company or organisation that do not correspond to material sources of present efficiency and/or future development. This is the reason why we speak of intangible assets.

It is the object of corporate strategy to develop them in a targeted fashion while operational business activities are called upon to utilise them on a high level of efficiency.
Correctly identifying and evaluating them is a highly explosive management job that simultaneously ad-dresses various decision-makers: management, controlling and marketing, while not forgetting the human resources department.

Value-Oriented Corporate Management

Anne Heintze „A change in the value climate seems to be the name of the game in our society. The fun society has had its fling and “old” values are experiencing a revival.

Far-reaching changes in culture and society are an everyday occurrence. Skyrocketing mobility, globalisation, digitising communication and the woman’s role changing in society are all providing the underpinnings for a serious metamorphosis in values.
